Real Beauty

Ines and I attended the launch of Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty in the Philippines last week. There was a forum hosted by Boy Abunda, with an impressive line-up of guests like MTV VJ Nicole Fonacier, Dove spokesperson Mia Sebastian, former Ms. Universe Gloria Diaz, TV Hosts Patricia Evangelista and Drew Arellano, as well as other experts. They debated about what real beauty is, how the media has cast beauty into narrow stereotypes, and how Dove is trying to change them. To find out more about this truly inspirational campaign, log on to www.campaignforrealbeauty.ph and check out my article in the August issue of Candy! ;-)

"Can you be sexy without being busty? Join the beauty debate."

"How long will we go on believing that only fair skin is beautiful? Join the beauty debate."

"Does skin really have to be flawless to be beautiful? Join the beauty debate."
(I wish I combed my hair before they took the picture though. Heehee!)

i really like the new dove campaign!Ü sometimes it frustrates me why filipinos want to have fair skin so much. any caucasian would love to have a "permanent tan" like ours! one even told me we look much healthier compared to them who look so pale and sickly.Ü

real beauty does not equal having shiny, straight hair as Shampoo commercials claim 24-7!
I hate shampoo commercials but they're all over!
They're taking over the minds of everyone in this country!!!
